Well we have now almost finished Summer, and just one week of residential holidays to go.This was my first summer at Willow Farm and I’ve loved it. I’ve only had a few holiday children to look after this year as I’m a newbie, but I will miss them. We have had so much fun.
I’ve been in a few shows, and started my rosette collection, but the last one I did an in-hand child’s pony class and we had to be led through bending poles and then stop quietly between two markers and stand still. I forgot that I wasn’t playing games (I love games) and I dragged my kiddy at breakneck speed through the bending poles and forgot to stop. But the judge still liked me (when you are a cute New Forest pony you get away with anything) and I came 3rd.
Becky came back for the second time this year on holiday and we got jumping. I love jumping. The Pony Club has just got a Sport England/Lottery Grant for a new BSJA showjumping course and I can’t wait.
In October I am part of a Pony Club Team against Caistor EC and I have to do a Dressage Test as well as a small course. That will be fun. I want to win.
Everyone is tired now, the girls will get their own holidays in September and October but I love it here and have started making my ‘Wish List’. Next year No 1. I hope I’ll get my very own Borrower and No 2 I want to go back to the New Forest and go and compete in the big New Forest Show.
